Because your tasks, notes, and finances are yours. Self-hosting means no company (including us) sits between you and your data. Your database runs on your own infrastructure.
Only for the AI features you explicitly trigger inside Project Forge — tech stack recommendations and configuration document generation. Nothing runs automatically or polls in the background.
You keep everything you already have, permanently. Renewing just unlocks new feature updates going forward — it's completely optional, not a requirement to keep using what you bought.

The current install guide assumes basic comfort with Git, VS Code, and running commands in the terminal. A simpler, guided GUI setup is planned for the public release.
